BRPD has nothing to do with any towing company or the towing of a car from private property. They will tow you if you're are a road hazard. So don't park in the street, block a driveway or block the view and make it hazardous for other vehicles to enter/exit the roadway. If your shite gets towed from private property, your issue is with the property owner becuase they're the one who called/authorized for your shite to get towed.
This sounds very cop like

Since the meme chain has been broken, why are people dropping their cars off in the Perkins overpass area? Is there some sort of grand box social occurring?

It's where the parade ends tommorow, people are either leaving cars to gtfo tom afternoon or save space to set up tailgates

Well he's correct, the cops have nothing to do with private property

Riverside towed him from the BWW parking lot on campus while he was in BWW! That is breaking the law! BRPD is defending a company and employees that have clearly stolen a car.
Go read the laws governing towing, if the owner of the property or their representative signs the ticket for the tow, they can have a car towed from the property for any reason. If the owner of BWW doesn't like blue cars in the parking lot he can request that all blue cars be towed from his lot even if the owner is there on the property. I had to deal with college students blocking my driveway, parking in my driveway, and yard, for years. I have heard every excuse there is and would bet money there is more to your friends story.

laws governing towing
First of all, BWW does not own the parking lot. All of the spots are owned by a land owner to whom the corporate business owners pay rent to.

The owner of the parking lot or land where the businesses are would have to post signs warning car owners that blue car will be towed. Otherwise, it's illegal to tow blue cars and blue cars only. There are no signs there that say you can be towed at any time for any reason. If there were, NOBODY WOULD frickING PARK THERE. There are signs that say you must be a customer of businesses associated with that parking lot. There are also signs that say you cannot leave your car there overnight. Towing for any other reason is BREAKING THE LAW.
