We have a 27' bumper pull camper that is due for tires. Those things run about $150 each, and what I'm reading online says they need to be replaced every 3-5 years. I've had some people tell me they are running regular passenger tires on their campers. What I'm reading online says the sidewall is too flexible and it increases the tendency to sway. I'm looking for any experiences, good or bad, to help me decide what I'm going to do. I also have a 18' cargo trailer that needs a set, too, so I'm not really thrilled about spending a grand on tires for the two trailers.

Go with the "trailer rated" they have mor plys and a higher weight rating than regular tires.

Do not do.

Get something like load star tires which are made for trailers. Make sure the tires are rated well above what they'll be loaded to in your application.

ETA: With tires, you get what you pay for. Think about what changing a tire on the side of the interstate in the rain feels like when you're shopping.

Lots of stupid, cheap people post online.

Put the right tires on the trailer.

Or be like the people in the first sentence. (shrugs)

You're gonna replace 'em one way or the other. 5 years? LOL...shite I wish. Trailer tires suck... especially cheap ones. The only one's I've found that last are Michelin RV tires.
