Tipping uber drivers?

It costs less than a cab and you tip cabs. Don't be a cheap arse, tip your uber drivers.

I don't think they accept tips, at least that's what my uber driver told me

Yea more than one has told me they aren't allowed to accept tips or something like that

They are trained to turn you down and if you insist to accept. Uber does this because they don't get a cut. Support your uber drivers!

When I send my girl home in an Uber I tip him in advance, when I ride I tip based on how hammered I would be.

I'm sure this has been mentioned countless times before, but does an uber driver rate you on how you were as a passenger?

Tipping is not required on UberX cars. Might be the same way the the other type of vehicles, except for Uber Taxi. The fare for that one includes a certain % in tips when the request is made.

Oh yeah, and your rating shows up before the next driver decides to accept you as a fare.

You can set your Uber account preferences to always add a tip. (For instance, you can set it to tip a certain % of your total fare). That way, it's just added onto whatever your credit card charge is, and you don't have to tip additionally. That makes it easy.

Same thing my driver told me. He wouldn't take it so I had to put it in the cup holder and bolt. He was so adamant about it I half expected him to chase me down to try and give it back.

You can't see your own rating. Only drivers can see it. Although maybe you could masquerade as a driver and then see your own rating. Hmmmm.
