Of what?

at the lawyer being the problem in this scenario

In LA can lawyers do significantly better on the med bill reduction side than an individual?

Back in the day in one state I practice in, lawyers could double dip. Get a percentage of the reduction on top of the fee on insurance settlement.

You are also missing the point.

No not really… the lesson here is if you plan on putting yourself on the road where a large portion of the population is distracted AF while driving make sure you yourself have proper financial precautions in place. Don’t ever rely on Debbie Dingleberry making you whole when she’s runs you over.

Not anymore. Medical providers are putting liens on cases and playing the waiting game. Acadian Ambulance wants 100% and they will wait to get it. The game has changed.

No, we have to disclose the reduction to the client. I’ve heard of some guys having prearranged reductions where the client sees x on the disbursement but the lawyer only pays the provider y and pockets the difference. Quick way to disbarment, though.

Had a case languish for longer than three years because of various reasons. It was the most pleasurable thing to file a dec action that most of the ER and ambulance bills had prescribed.

It's the lawyer who takes 40% who is trying to jack it up as high as possible.

What the lawyer is trying to jack up is your BIL's signature on a retainer agreement. Any big money talk will die out over time once he has signed and things are getting close to settlement.

I meant do lawyers have more juice to get them to reduce vs an individual.

I have heard of splitting fees with chiros before and set payments going both ways for "referrals". Back in the old days when I still did insurance defense, there was almost always a dirty transaction going on between big PI firms and big chiro.

Assets? As far as trips go, I’m not leaving my hood, too many opps out there.

Oh yeah, I have juice with chiros and to a lesser extent some orthos.

Not the hospitals and ambulance.

But I won’t call in a reduction to a chiro unless there are legit limits issues and I’m taking a cut on my fee as well. Insurer is paying their limits regardless, I just need reductions to make the numbers work for my client.

Hey it does work. Only real issue for me is where you live in Sec 8 safety wise.

If it were me, I’d get to Hawaii and then do it. Some place nice.

But my BIL's lawyer (nudes also on Reddit) is going to clean them out and destroy them. Because that's what people like SloFloPro do.

Let me ask you this. Do you think insurance companies would make people whole without lawyers?

Yeah, under 50cc you don’t have to carry insurance in a scooter or bike in GA.

I can’t imagine driving a vehicle on public roads without UMBI…stories like this are exactly why…

I got into a very minor fender bender. I think state minimums are 25k, I carried 100k.

You know what happened? They immediately sued for $100k.

So insurance companies would pay 60% of what's owed to be schlappy, so you need to hire a dirt bag lawyer to get the full 100% and take 40% so you still get 60% of what you would make you whole.

But it’s very clear you are not going to do this:

You lack basic knowledge on the subject to even have a passable conversation. So who should your BIL turn to?
