I love how he mentions how "cool" and "multicultural" it would be and how bad he "wants" to have see kids from other cultures sitting across the dinner table.

This instantly tells me he's doing it for the attention/status.

If he would have put more emphasis on adopting to help improve the kids lives it would earn respect but instead he just wants to adopt kids and show them off like they're jewelry or something.
