You keep acting like HOAs are forced on people. They aren't. They're nothing more than a contract between neighbors. They're consented to.

I mean, to each his own. If you live in a non-HOA area with a middle class level of prices, the chances of someone moving in and just trashing/not maintaining a property is pretty low.

I'm not overly against HOAs. In many of these new developments, the houses are so packed in close and everyone is so on top of each other that this kind of enforcement is needed. It just isn't for me.
