Idgaf what anyone says I love the northshore.
so do I it’s a great place to live…from Hammond area I can get just about anywhere easily, the cost of living is low, the weather is temperate for the most part and there’s plenty to do that we enjoy. It would be unlikely that I ever move away after retiring even though I could

Baw, if you had seen all the people watching the sunset on the lake today, enjoying friendships, cocktails, and food, you wouldn’t talk shite about our area.
I said it was a great place to live brah. I’ve lived in mandeville or Covington and now Hammond most of my life. Proud Covington country club kid

it’s not cold for very long and winters are almost always mild compared to the rest of the country

I went and picked a buddy of mine up in Mandeville last week to go on a fishing trip and good lord, the houses roof lines were 5’ apart.

How do people live in subdivisions like this? Insane

Folsom area is nice. Even bush. Lacombe at I-12 will soon have a four lane corridor to southern Washington parish, so there will be some movement there. Southern WP either west or east side will still be cheap for a while and taxes are low.

The whole traffic thing is WAY overblown. I’ve been here almost 10 years and rarely encounter what I would call bad traffic. Travel to/from Mandeville and Covington or Mandeville to/from Madisonville at peak times? Yes, that can be tough traffic. In Mandeville itself, we encounter little problems most of the time. Great place to live, especially in old Mandeville.

This!

I lived in Mandeville for 4 years and have lived in Madisonville for 8 months. If you stay in either, no problem! If you try to drive from one to the other, you're likely to find yourself in a traffic Hell!

Never try to go to Downtown Covington from either during lunch or between 4 and 6 pm.

yes you can get a really nice piece of property if you are willing to go rural for a while at reasonable prices. For all that it offers the north shore outside of mandeville/covington is cheap compared to other states

not being able to go where I want to go when I want to go is basically what I would call intolerable traffic. I have to drive back/forth to BR every day. 190/12/22 traffic is just as bad

So things worked out so well for your state after COVID restrictions? Do you REALLY think this guy would have been worse?

We’re full, you don’t want to move here. Too many Karen’s & in the city limits you can abort a baby but don’t touch a tree!

Traffic sucks but it's still a good place to live in my opinion. I live in Madisonville so I see it all the time. Probably the best place to live on Northshore in my opinion and one of the best places in SELA.

I work at our BR office twice a week, and I have family in Central. I'm still familiar with that nightmare, as well.

The i 12 widening helped tremendously, not sure why anyone would take 22 from Mandeville to madisonville. You can’t fix stupid I guess.
