Good god is there not an emergency shut off button lmao. Side note, best to just fall off on your own before it makes the turn and flings you into outter space

Once they get unbalanced like that it is hard to stop.
They rely somewhat on the weight going up as a brake or counter force. If you look at the video there are no chairs/people going back up.

Power has nothing to do with it just gravity. Well, maybe lack of power.
They do have a braking system but looks to have failed here.
