Yup, people questioned why Hillar did what he did. The proof is in the pudding

It’s my understanding that the dash cam automatically comes on when the officer hits the siren to pull someone over. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what I thought I read on here before. If that’s the case, he either didn’t hit the siren or turned it off intentionally, or it was deleted.

This officer has killed a man at a traffic stop without a camera on and has shot at another for apparently no reason.

Killed a man that pulled a gun, Gary. Make sure you state all the information instead of what you want people to hear.

Seattle is a big city. If there were no cameras there, how much would they be paying to defend, settle, or be liable for, lawsuits the footage might prevent from being filed?

How much is the trust of the populace worth to a police department?

If the cops are honest, the cameras help them.

ETA: Sorry, CrimsonTideMD, I hit reply on your post instead of the original one I (and you) quoted.

I'm not skewing the situation, I'm telling you what happened. This officer was involved in a shooting at a traffic stop in 2017. Surely a guy like him would know you turn your video on when you're getting out at a traffic stop.

That is your opinion. I have my own experiences. I voted for him previously and may again in the future if the opposition isn’t worthy.

Do you disagree that he is probably the most powerful person in this parish?

Today’s a different environment for officers.
If they have cameras on them or in the unit, society expects them to be on.
If not it raises red flags even if the officer is not at fault.
