So all you're saying is you don't know how to do it. I'm not trying to be an a-hole, but it can be as simple as engaging in a tipple, but knowing you need to be asleep by 11, even if it's a weekend.

Again, you male mental health heroes that believe in teetotaling, where does this anxiety and depression come from? It's not from Guinness. It's from knowing he ignored his boss' emails four hours before and dreading the morning status meeting, it's not the beer, or some similar scenario, usually about indecision and uncertainty.

The science disagrees with you as far as sleep quality and anxiety, but go ahead anyway.

Drinking that much might make you feel like a man but you have to ask yourself why you need to drink to feel like a man.

Alcohol offers nothing positive and only takes away.

There are two sides to every coin. Some folks, especially introverts, most definitely build closer connections with people when they've had a few to loosen up. Would I give up a couple years on my life to build connections and expand my network? Hell yes.

I can do the same with one decent beer.
A 5% abv beer does nothing for me thats how high my tolerance is. I assume by decent beer you mean a stout one or an IPA? I started on a 12 pack of Abita alpha gators for the Florida game while cooking dinner at 4. I had my whole family over and was wasted by kickoff after drinking like 9 or 10 of em. So I passed out at halftime and didn't even really visit with anyone. This is the kind of stuff I don't want to do anymore

I’m 52. Gave up liquor completely at 30. Only drink beer occasionally at social occasions and even then I usually only have 1 or 2. Haven’t missed it and honestly never even think about.
Funny thing is I haven’t smoked a joint since I was about 20 but still think about it now and then. Always joke around with my wife that the day I retire I’m gonna light up a fatty to celebrate.
