The only solution that makes sense to me is to get a cat up in that chimney. The cat will climb up and get that bird for you, but it'll likely get stuck in there since they're not meant usually for getting inside of chimneys as much as walls. That's why you're gonna need at least 3 more cats to send in after the first cat. Problem solved.

I had one in my chimney a few months back. I just used a shallow plastic storage container, held it up under the flue and opened and closed it a few times. The bird lost it's balance and fell into the container. Then I put the top on it before bringing it out into the room.
