Had been on the sub for a stop when a pile of people piled into our car at a busy stop.

Then we here the subway conductor over the intercoms. "Mind your belongings. Mind your belonging. There are undesirables on the train. Repeat, there are undesirables on the train. Ones that may have a jacket draped over their arm. Be aware."

Everyone started starting at each other. Do you have a coat. Do I have a coat? Am I holding it over my arm? Good, it's not me.

Then the train starts moving and the conductor says over the intercom "the undesirable left the train," and some people started clapping.

It was just kinda weird. Not sure why the conductor used the word "undersirable". It definitely wasn't used in a racial context. It turns out, the thief had been in my train car but darted out when the warning happened.

You pretty much can't here. It's illegal to conceal carry pretty much everywhere. I can't even carry a pocket knife in a suitcase on the subway technically.

Nope, the conductor was black. He wouldn't use that.

So, do they scan? Or is it just illegal?

I call the cops immediately when i see undesireables in my neighborhood. I can immediately tell who belongs and doesn’t belong in my neighborhood so i just allow my paid protectors of justice to sort the undesirables out.

They have to respond to anonymous calls regardless and pretty much never have issues with stopping undesireables when they see them.

Some places do, but yeah. Pretty much every building has stickers up.

Honestly, I've had odd run ins with homeless people but I've never really had a huge need to have one with it being extremely expensive to get.

I know this wasn’t in NY because you can’t understand a damn thing they say over the intercom.
