I tossed it right after we got it, but I think I remember it having white pages. I live in a very small town and the phone books are given to you by the electric/phone company when you sign up for service.

Thank you for replying. It may still be done in smaller towns but since the proliferation of cell phones and the resulting decline in the number of land lines has killed The White Pages, at least in bigger cities. Bellsouth used to distribute the White Pages but New Orleans hasn't had one in over ten years.

A lot of people here keep a landline because they don’t have cell service where they live if you can believe that. Living here is a sometimes a little like living in a time capsule.

If you can get someone's name, you can find where they live. You think phone books had more information than the freaking internet?

I don’t remember phone books having residential addresses and I’m pretty old, am I losing it?

Your local library may have a physical copy of a city directory, or provide access to ReferenceUSA which will have your name and address. More rural places might not be included in a local city directory though.

If you don't have a landline your telephone number won't be included but definitely name and address.

All you have to do is type someone’s name online, and it gives you their address, cell phone number, and political affiliation.

Not necessarily correct though.

MyLife thinks I'm Asian last I checked. And they overestimate my income.
