The Worst Sound In The World

Hasto be hearing your parents crying, right? My dads brother in law, his best friend since elementary school, my uncle - his heart is operating at less than 10%. Organs are starting to fail. My dad called me this evening crying and I swear it was the most painful sound I've heard in my life.

Kid's crying is worse.

Sorry for your Uncle.
My vote is the sound a mother makes when she loses a child. If you've ever heard it, it is haunting.

I give you an up vote because I knew it would be obvious.

I have to agree...from the time we are infants, our parents are the one thing that is solid and in control...to hear them crying is just disturbing.

Reminded immediately of this:

Hopefully it gave you a little laugh. This kind of situation is so tough, I'll probably go with my dad crying at his mothers funeral. She had a long life being paralyzed from a stroke, was tough.

This is 100% correct in my case - my dad retired from the Army as Major - a Ranger officer. The only other time I've seen the man cry was when my grandmother died. That was 20 years ago. Now I'm an adult, this is just something I've never heard. He's survived West Nile, suffering from MS, the after effects of transverse myelitis, strokes, a couple of heart attacks, etc. Never heard him cry through all of that.
Today, he cried.

I'm sorry for your Dad and Uncle.
btw, your Dad sounds like a tough dude. I can't believe he has survived all that.
