How is it possible that a YC driver sexually assaulted a female passenger in Seattle, if YC does yearly background checks? Why didn't the famous YC yearly background checks, that you so prominently mention that Uber doesn't perform, prevent this attack?

Why Dick, why???

LINK

ETA: There's plenty of incidents of cab drivers assaulting or robbing passengers according to Google. It's probably bullshite though. They're pro-Uber, I'm sure.

Some of this is true. Yes I do know a lot about uber been researching them for about 5 months now. No I haven't applied and won't because of their polices. If uber stays give it 6 months and you will start to hear the hell uber drivers and customers go through. I've put many links up to show some research on uber. But like I said someone reads one sentence doesn't like it then stops. They pull that one sentence and twist it around. They start acting like a bunch of savages and animals.

You are ignoring the fact that EVERYONE in this thread that has used both Uber and YC prefers Uber. Not most people, EVERYONE! Now I understand that you don't like them but when all of the customers prefer one company over an other that company is going to stay around while the other goes out of business or loses the vast majority of it's market share. I get that it sucks for you as a driver but even if this thread goes 1000 pages you aren't going to convince anyone that YC, or any can company, is better. You are fighting an impossible battle so I ask you this, why?

Did I also mention that I know uber drivers are being told to pick up their phones at home wood suites. Unlike most ppl here I think 360 and read all the facts.

Dude why does it matter where they get their phones. Also, we don't care about how they treat their drivers, we care about the service they provide and it is way better and cheaper than a can. Can you at least admit that?

Because if can read you would have read YC is not a world wide company. YC in every city is a different business DBA as YC. Is that easy enough to understand. Or I could just post the link of the story of a woman waking up in a sleazy motel next to her uber driver. For every 1 bad story you can find on a taxi driver I can produce 3 on uber drivers.

Yup! And there have been exactly zero incidents with Uber drivers while they are on duty, they are just a higher class of people.

Just stop feeding the troll. Only people who dislike uber are those in the cab business who will be losing food off of their table. They should have provided better services when they had the chance. Now it's too late.

This is what happened, dick applied for Uber...he went to pick up his iPhone without being activated while his background check was pending(that's how he knew they were distributing iPhones at homewood suites), they declined him and he had to bring the iPhone back...then he started this thread

YES.

Though the thing that should be really scary for the traditional cab industry is that even if Uber was 1.5-2x the price of a traditional cab, all of my friends and I would still rather use Uber than deal with the pain of calling, requesting and waiting on a cab for pick up and attempting to pay with a credit card.

Adam, did they pass out iPhones to drivers who weren't quite yet finished with their background check?

Cab driver assaults passenger
ETA:That's at least 9 stories there. Assuming some aren't stories about the same assault. So, you owe me, let's say, at least 20. I'll go easy on you.

Yep. The cheaper price is just icing on the cake. People will use Uber strictly to not have to deal with all the other bullshite with cabs.
