just gonna cut the cabbie pay and cost the customer more in the long run.
how so?
Uber has other competition (lyft, ect) that will under cut them if they raise prices. Their main selling point is that it works better at a cheaper prices.
Yellow cab and cab unions are a much stronger middle man then any app.

Ok I will use any career as example.
Let's take a pharmicsist. He went to school, paid for his licensing and pays yearly to renew it. He is also checked by the board every year to make sure he is holding true to his profession and not doing illegal things.
You now have a company come in from another state and say hey download this app and get your RX here by a random person who hasn't put in the time or money to legally do this profession.
Is that fare to the Pharmicist who put the time in paid back his student loans and also has to pay yearly fees.
What a shitty example. If you want to use a pharmacy example then this is more like getting your prescriptions from an actual pharmacy versus an online pharmacy. The online pharmacy will be cheaper and in some ways more convenient. On the other hand the actual pharmacy will be faster but more expensive.
What it boils down to in the service industry is quality of service and cost for that service. People will spend more for a service if it is better quality but may take longer. On the other hand, people will spend less for lower quality if the service is quicker. Comparing YC and Uber, it is clear that YC fails on all fronts. YC is higher cost, lower quality and takes longer to provide the service.

Stop asking for Über to be regulated as if it were a cab company and ask for less regulations on taxis.
Exactly the opposite of what the taxi industry wants.

Who gives a shite about fairness to a company? A company is a business. It's not in the "fairness" industry. Go cry to someone who gives a shite about what you think is fair. It's in the business to make money. Fail at providing quality service and your business fails.
The cab industry is a customer service industry. Provide great customer service, and you will see business grow. Provide typical shitty cab service, blame it on the customers, then you get what you have with yellow cab. Maybe, if you provided good customer service in the first place, then companies like Uber wouldn't need to start up.

Better example would of been insurance industry. State Farm vs. GoAuto. One with agents who are professionals of the field and the other online servicing.

Your spelling and grammar is painful.
Yes, in your example, that is fair.
How is that fair. The only person in that example who knows, what the RX can do for you, how much to take... etc
It's fair that someone with no education and experience can give you RX medicine.

What "education" do you have to drive a cab?
How to piss on the floor and make it smell?
How to be a dick and just not show up?
Maybe there is a class on how to lie and overcharge?

so the only person who knows how to drive me from point A to point B is a cab driver?

well, i would hope they took drivers ed and know their way around the city....i hope they are able to repay the student loans they took out for that education

Driving a car =/= dispensing controlled substances
You can't be this stupid. Or maybe you are.

From my understand Uber doesn't let people with out a drivers licences work for them.
Again you should be asking for less regulation to lower overhead rather then fighting against a popular company.
Craft beer in many states is a good example of this.
In Texas, Distilleries and wineries can sell for on site consumption in addition to selling for off site. On the other hand, breweries are limited to tasters and can only sell through a third party.
Breweries are not pointing fingers and asking for more regulation, instead they are working with the government to make meaningful and sensible changes.
All you are doing is hurting the public opinion of your yellow cab and its drivers.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what the cabs in NO are crying to the City Council. That it "isn't fair."
One guy in that Council Meeting said "They are trying to give limousine quality services at taxicab rates." He said that with a straight face like it is a negative thing. They really are that dumb, and think the government should step in and help them. Sadly, it will probably happen.

I highly recommend that you quickly learn the fact that people don't give a shite about fairness.

bullshite, I used the shite out of UBER last time I was out of town.
It completely blew away yellow cab and made me sad we didn't have it where I live.
No hassling for tip, came right out of checking account and was cheap as hell. The cars were nice and drivers were cool as hell.
UBER blows cabs out of the water on all fronts.

Now Richard I don't mean to sound condescending, but are you drunk in the middle of a Monday afternoon?
