That's big. Atlas track is nice.
Jeff at Electric Train Depot in Pontchatoula just bought my entire layout--everything--all scenery products, buildings, track (gar-graves and Ross), power, cables, specialty tools, Artista figures, control systems (full TMCC with wi-fi control).
I had a bunch of Ross specialty turnouts--double crossovers, 4-way yard throats, wyes, 3-ways, and curved turnouts...all with DZ-2000 slo-throw TMCC motors controlled from the Legacy remote.

ETA---I kept the GS-4 SP Daylight and 7 streamlined passenger cars (Lionel Legacy TMCC) and 80 feet of Gar-Graves track and the Legacy control system....I will build a loop one foot below the ceiling along the wall around the new media room which is being constructed now.

I love that layout and those trains. I want to build a standard gauge layout.

Although the layout worked fine physically, it didn't "work" as far as a track plan went. In order to really do it right, it would have to be totally torn down and rebuilt from the ground up using an open-grid structure.
My forte is electronics--I can repair PC boards (used to do some TMCC repairs for Bill Harrison before he moved), and I can do anything electrical on the layout...but when it comes to scenery and design, well, I just don't have that artistic eye. I would need a good bit of help with it.
If I lived in NYC or Philly, it would not be hard to access older retired folks to help me with this, but in GNO, there just aren't many people in the hobby that could give me some insight to take it to the next level. I am 44 and don't really have the time needed to properly do this from the start (doing it right).
My true passion has always been music and audio gear, so I am converting that room to a dedicated audio listening room that will house all of my gear and media.

My problem is getting enough room to stretch out a Blue Comet. I would like to have an o gauge layout but I dont hsve a clue how to run the new stuff.
I would like to see a video of that layout in action.

New stuff (Legacy/TMCC) is pretty easy...just need a Lionel Legacy remote/base system and a power pack (transformer). Those 2 things will set you back around $600.
I had 3 Legacy remotes and 9 power bricks producing 1200 watts of power at 18v/20A...I could weld with it
The new MTH Standard gauge tinplate stuff is nice--and it will work easily with the MTH DCS system (their version of TMCC). Lionel also has a few Standard gauge trains out too. I will eventually get a Standard gauge train for the base of the Christmas tree.
The NJC Blue Comet (blue) is beautiful, as is the Southern Railway Crescent Limited (green), and the Chicago & Alton Limited (red).
The tinplate Blue Comet is also beautiful.
