I don't think banning lobbying is the answer because true lobbying is not writing law, it is advocating for your point of view to be heard in the hallowed halls of congress.

We definitely could restrict what lobbyists can and can't do, such as writing the laws but the reality is until politicians get punished for this type of thing it won't stop.

Fyi, the lobbyists are the ones actually writing the laws.

This guy once handed out $10,000 checks on the Texas State Senate floor days before a vote was to take place on some legislation that favored his industry, called them "campaign contributions". Nothing happened to him or anyone who took his money.
