False. I got zero tax credit for my wife’s model 3.

Depends on when you bought but the credits are UP TO $7500.

With the passage of the infrasture act last year they extended and enhanced many of those credits.

Poor planning? No. It’s letting the activists run the power generation that’s the problem.

Sounds like that is poor planning

Your usual EV vs ICE comparisons are done (and funded) by pro EV groups and they tend to fudge the details. They will omit the the environmental impact of the more advanced batteries EVs use, or ignore the impact of the fact that EVs are typically powered by coal in a lot of places. They will also include estimates of recycling and other advancements that they expect to happen in the future rather than use actual numbers using today’s technology.

So nothing to back it up but your own feelings and opinions?

What are your thoughts on how things change with that much storage hooked up and some running on demand response or VPP programs?

There is no argument that EVs are a net drain on the grid. There is zero argument otherwise. The only time you have most of them sitting plugged in is when the grid doesn’t need the power anyway.

Sounds like an extremely efficient use of available capacity

Like everything the "green energy" crowd predicts, this will be clearly wrong within a handful of years and people will pretend they never said it.

Ok feel free to ignore the technological advancements around you.

During those peak consumption hours, the energy stored in those batteries can ease the grid load.

No one’s saying they aren’t a net consumer. But ignoring their ability to load stabilize is foolish.

But it isn't. That's the point. The majority of these vehicles won't be plugged in when the grid needs the "stored energy."

Imagine keeping your car plugged in only to realize you can't drive anywhere because the state pulled from your battery so it could avoid rolling blackouts. There is no chance this is a solution.

You can’t plan outside of what’s mandated. And that’s the activists fault.

If you have a state that has green lighted multiple generation methods and the grid is then strained, that is poor planning.

If you have a state that is cutting off the head of every source available outside of “green energy”, not allowing easy means to boost the grid, that’s idiotic activism.

The @Tesla Model Y was the best selling vehicle overall in California in June. BEV market share also hit a new all-time high of 21.1%.

Tesla sold more Model Ys than all new Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Honda Accord and Lexus NX sales combined.

What is the source other than the Twitter X? When I click on the X, it only shows the graph. When you look at the graph it shows maybe 22% for "all electric" cars, 10% for hybrid (not plugged in), and then maybe 3% for plugged in hybrids. and the graph is not even by months it is by years. Where are they getting the monthly totals?

But using Louisiana math, 22 + 10 + 3 = 51% ?

So one of the advantages of EV’s is charging your car to take that planned road trip you were expecting to take…. Only to hop in the car and have half the power required because your car’s power was tapped to stabilize the grid??

Oh sign me up. You have won me over.

You know what else stabilizes the grid? Sanity. Sanity when it comes to resources.

Not sure what's funny, it's already happening with powerwalls.

Ban bet California's grid will be better in 5 years vs worse?

I don't care if it's "better." If it's having blackouts at all, it's not functional.

There’s no point in me showing the flawed logic or reality you're ignoring. I’m content to let you make exaggerative points to keep your head in the sand and remain ignorant to the world changing around you.

You didn't even know people get major tax credits for purchasing these, and you want us to believe they'll be pulling energy from electric vehicles to fill gaps in the grid.

The only thing you're doing is making yourself look foolish.

Show me a grid of significant size with no blackouts ever.

You're a fricking moron.

Having it when you don’t need it and not so much when you do?

Doesn’t sound extremely efficient when it is put that way.

No blackouts "ever" isn't really the standard here. California has blackouts REGULARLY. When they get to a level of any typical state, let's talk.
