It was Mitsubishi that the engine crapped out(long story, but dont' think it was actually the car's fault, if you will), wife and I have had good luck with the Dodge/Jeep vehicles we've had over the past 15 years, probably 5 or 6 of em total.

Yea, and for the record, I also have no clue what those acronyms are lol.

But in EV talks, I stick to my lane and discuss the stuff I know or have experience with. And the detailed shite you usually go into, I stay away from because you lose the shite out of me pretty quickly, too technical for my simple mind.

Diverse? What does diverse matter?

Ever heard of putting all your eggs in one basket? A diverse mix of energy is inherently more stable in the long term. This is just a basic truth.

THE POINT IS SHOWING THEIR CAPACITY IS STEADILY DECLINING.

Production just needs to match demand. What point do you think you are making?

How is that not a negative point?
Because overbuilding capacity beyond what is required would be stupid. Kind of like you.

Who gives a damn if it’s diverse IF IT’S LESS RELIABLE

You have failed to show that a more diverse grid runs counter to this basic truth.

I live in north Texas, definitely agree here.

I recently spent a week in Orlando, and I guess I never realized how many were in North Texas until I traveled and noticed I was seeing wayyyyyyy less Teslas in Orlando compared to North Texas.

My Model 3 is the best car I've ever owned and it isn't close. I've had Mercedes, Toyota, Saab, VW... not in the same league. Look forward to driving it every day.

Hasn't happened to me. Got two vehicles over 100k with more than 10 years on the road. Looking good so far.

And there are people who have had Teslas over 10 years that it hasn't happened to, so not sure what point you're making there.

My parents have had engines that died in cars above 300k though, so I do know that it happens. At 300k I'm not sure you can complain though.

Agreed. If you get that many miles out of a car, it's probably not worth much in a trade and if an engine or battery goes out, you chalk it up to getting your money's worth, and go out and buy a new one.

A quarter of an entire state isn’t significant

Do you understand that states do not require energy? That "state" is not a unit of measure?

People use energy.

What if I drew a box covering 2% of California that has had a 100% reliable grid for years and tried to use that as an example of the entire state's grid. That would be pretty stupid, right?

That's you.

You realize that California has filed huge lawsuits against utilities over fires caused by California's own policies that enabled wildfires to spark? You think that money is going to maintain the grid? Cute.

and they can use that additional money to produce and deliver more electricity, right?

sure, coming right up if all 50 million people in CA get EVs

dumbass

So what % of total cars on the road is this?

In a state that couldn’t meet it in recent years? Is it?

Again… Newsome wanted the Nuke plant closed. If they have excess production.. why did he reverse face and advocate it remain?

They currently have enough production to function because they had to relent on their OWN policy they are striving to achieve.

Because overbuilding capacity beyond what is required would be stupid.

Again. They are under built. They were scheduled to shutter a nuke plant but couldn’t. Now. Tell me how having to extend the lifecycle of a planned shutdown of a nuke plant shows overproduction of electricity.

Ummmmmmmmm. Did you not just argue that overproduction of electrical grid assets would be stupid?

The grid has what it needs. It stays up. It’s reliable. It’s over a sizable area. It’s served the intended purpose.

You wanted and example. You were given an example of an expansive grid that produces what it needs and does it reliably with no blackouts.

Sorry it contradicted you and you now have to qualify.

But a system that covers a quarter of the state, with a reliable source, with power transmission lines that cover hundreds of miles… that has multiple substations… that had thousands upon thousands of transformers, and thousands of miles of line is significant. Sorry.

California not in top 10 nor in the top half of the states regarding reliability. Near what the previous publication ranked them.

Per page 17 California ranks 19th in grid uptime, excluding major events. Your fav Mississippi is 49th.

You are obviously far too stupid for me to make you recognize that fact before I get on this plane.

Unbelievable that you are trying to argue that a couple hundred thousand people is significant in a conversation about California. Just mind boggling stupidity.

I'll be back tonight or tomorrow to continue explaining how stupid you are.

If you ever want a deeper dive on anything i'm throwing out there, just ask. I never mind breaking it down more for someone who is legitimately curious. I just don't go through the effort for the tards because it's a waste of time.

And the average Frequency of averages is a 23rd ranking. Middle of the pack.

Buuuut.. the complete average of all factors, it’s, again, in the bottom half at 33.

Are the others ranked ahead more “diverse”?

Oh and side note, check out Florida! Not as diverse though. Mostly natural gas. So damn. They can’t enjoy that.

My god I’m conversing with a petulant child.

“Show me this! Bet you can’t!”

*shows*

“You can’t use that!! Doesn’t meet my definition!!! You stooopid!!!!”

———-
“This state will be a lot better grid wise in 5 years!!!

*shows capacity dropping and trending down. plants being held open because of emergency. Other generation sources mainly used now is planning to be shuttered in the near future. No tangible replacement made in 5 years for planned other shuttered plants*

“What’s declining capacity, no quick substitutes of other energy sources, and emergency extension of planned nuke shutdowns gotta do with future reliability?? Huh? Huh? You stooopid!!

———

“Overproduction of power is ignorant!! Why would they do that?1?1?1!”

*shows again planned shuttering of Nuke plant, Governor was in favor of doing, was held open due to emergency needs and grid failure if it was taken offline*

“They got plenty of resources!! 19th in one ranking!! You stooopid!!!”
