The key was that a Van Gogh scholar knew VG's work well enough that when he saw a very old postcard, he recognized what Van Gogh had painted.

VG could have benefitted so much from modern medicine. Whether he would been an incredible painter is highly unlikely, however. Aren’t tortured artists the best?

Sad. Would've loved to see some of his stuff if he was able to get a better handle on everything.

I went to the bar one time and saw Van Gogh saddled up. I went up and asked, "Need a beer?" He replied, "frick you, I hear just fine!" I think he misunderstood me that a-hole.

In Van Gogh's case, some of his most famous paintings were likely interpretations of how he viewed scenery on medication.
