It was during after school practice for the end of the year play for drama 8th grade of middle school. Were on stage doing a scene and the principla walks into the auditorium. Asks the teacher to stop for a minute. I was already on stage, she tells me in front of all my friends that I got my acceptance letter to The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston.
Going to that school was life changing.

Stood up to bullies at age 8. It was my dad's bosses kid and his 2 friends. He pinned me down, I got up and punched him and caused his nose to bleed. He was stunned, his buddies too because I was pretty mild mannered and puny. They never touched me again and we actually became good friends.
Changed my life. Taught me to stand up for myself and earn my respect.

My serious answer. When my toddler daughter got sick and was left permanently and profoundly brain damaged. Changed everything about my life, and of course hers too.
