This thread really should be wacked when you have 2 parents arguing about travel ball and how fast girls pitch at which age group? I would venture to say these are the 2 parents who sit in the stands who think they are better than the other parents at the park.

You should whack yourself for replying to the same post (and quoting it) twice. Even when you try to call people out, you can't help but to display your stupidity.

Are other sports just more cut and dry: you sooner realize you aren’t very good and just move on?

Not at all. A dude I work with has his 9 year old son going to football camps all summer and hired him a personal trainer. He's decided his boy should be an OL, but he is pretty short for 9.

Also, these basketball AAU circuits are no different than travel ball.

How the hell does anybody know if they are too tall or too short at 9 years old?

If you're born with a rocket arm you don't really need "development"

if they're like St. Bernard the rec leagues barely get to use them

Well they aren’t like St. Bernard at all

They play rec soccer and flag football on the fully turfed outfields and during the spring rec gets priority during the week for practice and games on the fields

That’s one of the reasons why college coaches don’t care about your high school stats. They need to see your swing, and radar gun before any game play.

High school stats WITH CONTEXT absolutely get you in the door

Let’s just say this, your kid will not make a 6a HS roster in middle Tennessee if you’re not playing travel…
