Haven’t met mike, but I’ve met his ceo a few times and he seems to be a really good guy. Went out of his way a few times to help me out with our condo

Been involved in more than a few projects with Mike, he's first class.

Mike buying in further, in downtown BR, seems to be a pretty good sign for the area. Nice article

True. Downtown has come leaps and bounds from where it was a mere 10 years ago, but I feel it could be more vibrant than it is now. Their needs to be several more restaurants and bars for it to be a long-term viable option for someone to live there. Not trying to sound greedy or overzealous, the growth just seems slow.

Who is paying $1200+ for a one bedroom around here?

Any of the numerous single professionals making $65k+? Any couple where both are employed and are not planning on having kids anytime soon? Is this a trick question?

I see what you’re saying, but it seems like a large amount to pay just for rent. There has to be a cap on what someone is willing to fork out for rent.

Getting on the elevator in that building was like watching your life flash before your eyes

Exactly. Just a couple years ago, I had an entire house in the Garden District with a fenced in backyard for $1k.

IMO they need another 200-300 room hotel and another regional HQ or two (such as Brown and Root or Turner Industries). The hotel for the additional evening foot traffic and the HQ for daily retail demand.

There are a number of apartments already complete or under construction.

The Camelot Club

Hadn't thought about that place in a while. Handful of years ago had a meeting there for settlement discussions on a 8 figure case we'd spent thousands of man hours working on with lots of political shite involved. Worked out well, very.
