Not really possible or moral. Besides, they had already declared war on us.
But in my view, there was little difference between totalitarian "socialism" and totalitarian "communism" as implemented by those nations.
Slow walking Overlord might have been our better plan.
Let both totalitarian regimes grind themselves down in the snow a bit longer.

I get it. Not everyone that served in the German army completely agreed with the ideology, but the man had the Hugo Boss uniform with the lightning bolts...that's kinda the definition of Nazi.

Russia beat Hitler as much as the US did. Hitler venturing into Russia was his biggest mistake beyond starting the war in the first place.

He got sent back to Finland because he couldn’t speak German.

Read the book, really good on so many levels, the Winter Wsr, Continuation War, SS Officer training, the American Army in the 50s 60s, the beginning of Green Berets, early Vietnam MACVSOG.
