I live on Burbank near Nicholson. Do we need to get out now? If so where do we go?

The flight is Friday from LAX to BTR. It is canceled, but I'm sitting on a $200 change fee for now.
I'm posting three contacts below who are the high ups at American, with Sean being your best option. Please send them an email and say their agents wouldn't waive a change fee despite this historic flooding. Let them know that United and Southwest provided excellent customer service and a travel advisory but this is unacceptable on American's part.

There are going to be a lot of job losses & job relocation outside of La associated with this flooding event. the economic hit is going to be bad for us
Or it could be a significant boom like Katrina was for NOLA. Construction work is going to be on another level for months, and federal dollars are going to be pouring in as well.

Storm drains at Highland and Burbank are starting to back up. Not a crazy flow, but def are not draining and are beginning to form puddles

In laws were still dry with some room to spare behind target and chili's. Was using Facebook over wifi to communicate but they all went offline at the same time and never came back. Assuming power loss

Just went walk to Bayou Fountain
I live at Lakes at Bluebonnet
We have 2 large lakes along Bayou Fountain, each 1 has a low point where they drain into the Bayou
Right now both low points are dead even with the Bayou, so no drain can occur
It is still about 3-5 feet from the banks of our lakes on the high points

It's the area where Burbank curves right before it crosses over highland and becomes Siegen.

Unfortunately, I see the flip side. Folks here have endured an unwarranted amount of hardship. Too much agony to stay and rebuild. It's traumatic for a lot of people.
