Well, good bit of water going out of the hood either way so I'm glad I don't need to get out. Training run can wait!

D is at the farm and the rice fields are, well, flooded again. It'll take some time to drain and then dry enough to cut. But should be ok. He didn't say if any rice is down from any wind that may have come through -- wind wasn't bad at home though but we're not really by the farm so idk.

Oh, and I can flush my toilets!!!

A coulee overflowed and flooded a few homes in my neighborhood, but I am high and dry. We are on a no-flush-your-toilet alert. Looks like bathroom will be used at Academy for a while.
Just got a recorded call from the city/parish president that he has declared a state of emergency ad to stay off the roads. Duh, like no shite Sherlock.

I'm guessing that my son should stay put in BR and not try to come home. He texted that he's stuck at his friends 400 sq ft apt ... he is just returning from a trip to NC and I think wanted some rice and gravy. Hope his friend has bread and peanut butter!

Scooba's link was the last 24 hours.

WAFB's projection of the next 24 Spoiler alert: It is not good.

You are not the first person to tell me that today

Stay safe.

Also, your rice fields are flooded? I thought they were supposed to be flooded. Isn't that a thing or did I make that up?

I am in Iberville parish, it is steady raining where I am but no threat of flooding... at this time, but I just want to tell everyone to stay safe and I will keep those who are affected by this weather system in my prayers.

frick. I'm high enough here where I definitely won't flood but we have a lot of old trees down my street. Every time it rains like this one of them ends up falling over and taking out the power lines.

It's only a matter of time.

The guy in the black truck that decided that he would drive out in that water when that tanker is in the ditch was not too bright, huh? I doubt he's gonna be alive. Anybody got an update on him?

Not sure if accurate, but I just read that Zachary got 11.5 inches of rain in between 4:00 am and 12:00 noon.
