My son is in West Hall which is right there. It is so crazy to get texts saying, “I’m Ok. In my dorm all safe. There were more armed robberies in the area tonight.” I think that’s now 4-5 this semester.
Crazy to think that kids are overall in a safer environment in an off campus apartment. That’s where he is headed once this semester is over.

I'm honestly surprised there aren't more incidents considering how close the ghetto is to the north gates. Aster was kind of slummy when I was at LSU (96-00). I'm not sure if it's gentrified some.

When I drive through those neighborhoods (either going the back way to the LSU football game or scoring an 8-ball of coke...it just kinda depends on what time of the year it is) I have always noticed that the cars the residents drive are MUCH nicer than the homes in which they live. It almost seems like it would make more sense to just live in the car...
