With the rate of mutation in influenza, it is impossible to do a vaccine either way. The data showing the flu shot having any measurable benefit has been thoroughly debunked. It isn't worth the risk given the ingredients (the preservatives and adjuvants, not the strains).

I'm back to work, still congested, but the aches and pains are gone...
This is the first time on record that I've had the flu, and if getting the flu vaccine helped me, I'm glad I had to take it. I felt like complete shite over the weekend, couldn't imagine it being worse.
On my 4th day of Tamiflu...

Tamiflu only shortens the flu by 24 hours.
Unless you are very young, very old, or immunocompromised it really is not that big of a deal to get Tamiflu when you have the flu.
