Sure, but the effect ecstasy has on people is extremely appealing. This seems like it would have a high opportunity for addiction, and then folks will just naturally move on to heroin so they can try to get the high they no longer achieve with ecstasy. Let's not pretend that this mdma will just magically not get people high.
You know zero about drugs.

Whatever you say, man. I don't really care if you think I know anything about drugs. What you quoted is reality.

You mouthing off about drugs again trying to look cool in front of your friends?

I mean...sure. If we believe people will use drugs exactly as prescribed and no doctors will misdiagnose PTSD so they can write prescriptions for it. Surely we don't believe that?
well that isn't addiction. the potential for misuse is definitely high. But we have regulations to address this, for instance you can get cocaine or meth by prescription. Majority of misuse is going to come from the black market, not from prescriptions.

Oh this is true, but I don't think it changes my point any. This will introduce ecstasy to a group of people who likely would not have been messing with the drug otherwise, and they will definitely crash harder when they start to abuse it. It will also increase the supply that can be found on the black market. This seems like a very dangerous idea.

well that is possible. But the drug abuse rates for PTSD are very high. So, if you can treat the udnerlying condition the reason for using drugs might stop.

I seriously doubt it. No one gets meth or coke that comes from a lab, its all black market.

Its only a bad idea if it doesn't help with the PTSD. PTSD is a very serious condition that has wide ranging impacts to a person's life. If we can help those, our society will be much better off.

Mushrooms make more sense. It isn't the same type of high, and the effect isn't as appealing. Seems like there would be less of a chance for addiction through such a treatment. Dropping acid to treat it, on the other hand, would be a bad idea.
see I would go the other way with it. Shrooms have a half hour to an hour that can fricking suck and you have no control over that. Acid on a clinical dose (or even a party one) and in a controlled setting would not have an effect similar to that.
Not saying that either is good for PTSD. I can see the benefits of using them for some issues like depression. Just not so sure PTSD is one of those.
I'd imagine all of this is would be done with some sort of valium or what not near by at all times.

MDMA saved many marriages in the 70s when psychiatrists dosed fighting couples.
They dropped their guards and worked out their problems at a high success rate. Have zero problem with this under medical supervision

This right here, is the dumbest thing i have ever read in my life. x and heroin aren't even in the same ballpark.

That is like saying I cannot get coffee anymore so now I just drink whiskey.
A better analogy would be "I cannot get oxycotin anymore so now I do heroin" which is happening everywhere right now.

Come on now. For every person who abuses the ecstasy, there will be 10 willing to sell their pills for extra cash. This happens with other prescriptions all the time.

I disagree. I think it will absolutely help with the PTSD for a time, but I think this will make it even worse in the long term.

the pills are administered 2 or 3 times in a lab setting. there would be no selling of pills

well this is the beauty of the study, they will find out.

People go from x to heroin all of the time. Mostly because they don't know anything about what the drugs do.

I'm not talking about in the trial...

So people just magically stop getting high from mdma and decide they need heroin? You are dumb as frick.

Seen it happen. Y'all believe what you want.

there are a wide range of drugs that are only given in a clinical setting. I would imagine MDMA will be under this restriction, if its approved for treatment of PTSD.
