The DFW metroplex is fascinating to me
Unlike you instead of subjecting myself to the torture of DFW I usually just play with my pecker for that entertainment.

- It's all chain restaurants, no culture: if you truly believe this then you have 0 actual understanding of DFW or Houston. In the Dallas Metroplex alone you could visit a different NON-CHAIN restaurant every day for breakfast, lunch, & dinner & not repeat the same name once
I’m sure it’s possible, but most DFW residents choose to stay with the safe bets of Logan’s roadhouse, BWW, and Bonefish grill for those special occasions .

- The geography is stale/bland/other BS: yeah it's so much worse than overly polluted everywhere in LA in addition to the insect infested muddy waters & hunting areas that you can't even access be/c it's all private land. DFW affords you the Katy Trail (a far better experience than anywhere that LA can offer) + the proximity to the Hill Country, Northeast TX, & Big Bend, etc. In LA you're best bet is just a 4-6 hours drive to Far East Louisiana aka Destin, FL.
East Texas is one giant industrial corridor. I’m pretty sure Tyler Texas is sititng on a massive vat of benzene. But you’re right, Dallas is an outdoorsman paradise. If you want a breath of fresh air while in downtown Dallas, one can run alongside the dried up sewage ditch, I mean, the Trinity River to get inspiration. Big bend is only a 10 hour drive away, so we might as well include the Rocky Mountains while we’re at it. Just tack on a few more hours, who is counting . And while us suckers in La have to settle for Destin, our friends in DFW have numerous artificial lakes where one can go camping at along with dozens of your best friends from south of the border who regale you with their native music until 3 am at full volume while you try to sleep.
