The desire to live and reproduce. Re: DNA/RNA. (Science board)

I think "desire" falls under the category of emotion. With that said every living cell in the animal and plant kingdom shows an intrinsic desire to live forever. But we all know cells cannot live forever. So, as an alternative cells have evolved to compensate by reproducing.
Okay, I think that's a pretty simple concept.
But what is the source of that desire?
If we look to the DNA or RNA molecules, those molecules want to replicate. This can be seen in viruses. Viruses are nonliving clumps of DNA/RNA shrouded by proteins that simply want to reproduce. Again, they are nonliving but want to replicate themselves. To humans, some viruses are harmless and some are deadly. But that is besides the point.
The point is, viruses demonstrate the fact that a nonliving molecule has to propensity to replicate (reproduce) itself. I think this assertion is true and observable.
Why does the DNA/RNA molecule want to replicate?

Actually most millennials are so in debt that they have to rescue pit bulls instead of having kids

Actually, secks because of DNA.

You can read Dawkins' The Selfish Gene which is based upon this topic.
But at the end of the day, you're right. Your question remains.
Good example of science figuring out the "what" and "how," but unable to answer the "why."

I wish this topic was covered in biology (and I have a Microbiology degree...that I don't use).

I'm living a glamorous dink life and have no desire to have children. I say this with the understanding that my seed is incredibly valuable due to my master race style genetics.

I’m sure that your mom told those guys at the gang bang that she was on birth control.
Some “mysteries” just aren’t.

You have a desire to have children.
You don't have the desire to care or raise children.

Because the ones that weren't interested in replicating didn't last long.

Will look into it.

Simple but profound. Natural selection.

Trumps gonna make it illegal for y’all to get married again

You're framing this incorrectly. They don't "desire" to reproduce. The ones that have a certain sequence of instructions that appear to be the desire to reproduce, are the ones that stick around.
