What would you call that?

Yea, you’re playing against the house in that scenario and the house has an edge. In poker, you’re playing against other players.

I wish Phil hellmuth was apart of that hand. He'd lose his shite

Your playing against the players
Plus fees, rakes, etc
All being equal, you lose money

And sure, she said she thought he may have ace high (which doesn’t make sense) but she also said she was didn’t have shite and was only calling to see if he was bluffing or not. That at least makes some sense to me. Especially if she thinks he’s gotten away with bluffs before (which I think I remember her saying).
Even if she’s certain he’s bluffing she’s still losing to almost every reasonable hand he can have. It’s very bizarre.
If she’s calling just for the hell of it I can see that being frustrating for almost $200k
I don’t know about cheating but that’s probably one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen that actually worked out. It’s at least interesting. Not sure why there’s a bunch of people who admit to never playing poker being insistent upon it not being an interesting hand to discuss.

People don’t make plays that dumb on $1-$3 tables or .25 home games or even play money games online but yet people want to rationalize this play for over $100,000. She isn’t some noob idiot player. She has tournament cashes dating back over 5 years.

All isn’t equal. Everyone’s skill level is different. There’s no billionaire garbage men either, does that make your profession less important?

This seems like a silly argument going on here.
Poker is a game of chance yes, but you can greatly increase or reduce your chances of winning by making the right decisions based on the information you have at hand. What differentiates the pros is the amount of info they’re able to absorb and process over somebody that’s an amateur. Also, if they’re playing with other pros they assume these people will follow similar processes in their decision making.
The mistake Garret made was assuming that she would make the right decision. The fact is he was pushing her AI with a draw rather than calling to see another card…after she called and raised….could be seen as dumb too (although within reason).
Like I said before, bitching because somebody counters your brilliant move with something stupid ….and then wins…:makes you look like a whiny bitch.

Garbage men do not get paid based on the radnom drawing of cards
So this makes no sense

I’m not deflecting at all. I did answer the question. I’ve also said in that post just because there’s chance component in the game doesn’t mean it’s just a game of chance. Poker is a skill based game with chance component. There’s a lot of variance involved. Even the best players in the world lose 25-35% of their sessions.

Do garbage men have the ability to win or lose infinite amounts of money based on how many cans they dump or something?
You poker bro overlords are getting progressively worse at this.

And now your whining about poker being a profession

A lot of folks are missing that it wasn’t just this one call, there are like 3 suspect calls that establish a pattern of red flags that something was up.
Please tell me why she gave the money back if she wasn’t cheating, lol

This is you talking about entire games or more and not single hands, again.
This is you deflecting, again.

Poker is a profession to thousands of people. You’re ignorant to think otherwise. Give me the question y’all are trying to get answered and I’ll answer it for you.
