Could not be further from the truth with baseball.
Give me a kid who eats, sleeps and breathes baseball and he'll smoke 90% of the 'athletes' on the field.

like scheduling conflicts. If your kid is a 5A basketball player, it is not easy to play football and baseball because of overlapping seasons. Also, most kids playing 5A basketball play AAU summer ball, which means they're not playing summer baseball or 7 ond 7 football. It's not an absolute, but playing 3 sports in high school is way more difficult than in grade school.
I just referring to kids that play 3 sports (football, basketball and baseball) during the school year and travel baseball during the summer. I'll admit,I know nothing about AAU basketball
Sure the beginning of the seasons overlap, but not usually not the games, unless they are still playing in the playoffs

very rare for a 5A kid to play all 3 in high school, even more so if they're likely to play a sport at next level.

granted it's been a while but when I was a kid the opposite was usually the case

Another example of my point, here are a list of the kids that were two sport stand outs in high school sports on the 2009 Lsu National Championship team(there may be more, I am just listing the ones that excelled at two sports):
Jared Mitchell
Chad Jones
Leon Landry
Grant Dozar
Mikie Mahtook
Sean Ochinko
Johnny Dishon
Anthony Ranaudo
Louis Coleman
Blake Dean
Dj Lemaheiu
Anyone notice that this included pretty much the best players on that team?

It's much easier to play all 3 in 1A and 2A. It gets more difficult in the higher classifications in my humble opinion.

wanna take a guess as to how many D1 baseball players played travel ball prior to 2000?
FIFY
and I'm talking about 9-16 years old....not Legion or Metro leagues.

you'll notice I said that it wasn't absolute. Jazz is an exceptional athlete for sure.

My daughter did competitive gymnastics for years, and got beat the frick up doing it (we probably put some nice additions on the ortho's house). She wanted it (we did not push). Had her best year (both in terms of success and being without injury [other than bumps/bruises]) and then decided to hang it up. Main driver was she hardly ever got to have a "real" life (was training 15 hours a week, plus school). She's so much happier now.

Number one is letting the kid decide.

you should be ashamed trying to live your life vicariously through daughters due to all your shortcomings you had growing up.
WTF is wrong with you?

Think that yall got it bad. My dad forced bullriding on me. The first time I got stepped on right in the calf, in the middle of the arena (I was 14 years old btw) I yelled "frick this shite im done". My dad yells back "Pussy".
