Having a Sunday newspaper was fun The morning after an LSU football game. Sipping coffee and reading the articles. I knew a lady that worked at a library and her husband was a sports writer for the Advocate. I can’t imagine the hurt they must be feeling.

I haven’t been in a library in about seven years. And I don’t buy a newspaper anymore.

The Louisiana State Library also keeps a large collection of old Louisiana newspapers on microfilm on one of their floors. Free to browse.

Ok thanks, sorry for all the questions, but show up, and it'll be online there or the physical papers?

Microfilm. Its on little film rolls and you look at it through a machine. It's been a few years so maybe they've digitized their collection by now.

I do still get the paper, but not for long! I"m done.

I cancelled the Advocate a few months back because of their "liberal" leaning..they called and offered to cut my cost in half so I said ok, let's give it another try. I agree...I'm cancelling for good today!

I disagree completely. They have very conservative editorials all the time from the like of Dan Fagan (douche), Cal Thomas and a true conservative icon, George Will. The local editor, Lanny Keller, has grown more conservative as well, recently supporting the tort reform package at the legislature.

Some of the "liberal" articles you are referring to are national articles from the AP. But I know that if any media outlet are not kissing Trump and McConnell's arses, many conservative think its slanted liberal.

Did you read the editor's editorial last week, while announcing a new CNN contributor, a former pro player? It closed with "tune in & listen & learn." A direct reference that we need to watch CNN & listen & learn. Conservative? This was not an AP contribution. When it comes to the national news, the editorial section is as liberal as USA Today's.

Advocate is on life support. I read that shite everyday.

I remember a time when Doonesbury was too liberal for the comics and conservatives wanted it moved to the OP/ED page. How things have changed, Mallard Filmore was moved for being too conservative.

The Advocate purposely hired a lot of northeast plants from New York, Massachusetts, etc. to shift the narrative of their newspaper. Most people reading likely don’t even take the time to research the author of the heavily biased propaganda piece they are reading.

Nine times out of ten it’s written by someone that’s not from Louisiana and not even from the south/Midwest and they have an agenda.

Lets just face the facts: Most all media outlets are liberal! I can name the conservative outlets on one hand easily....its just the way it is.

They would call me for a subscription every couple of months even after I told them to stop calling I don’t want it. The final time they called was when I told them if they called me again I would consider it harassment.
