What time do schools in your area 8 begin each day?
8 is a good time to start work if you have a kid in elementary school in our area. They are first to begin each day followed by middle school 30 to 35 minutes later, which may be a problem for a parent starting work at 8am as entry time would give them only 5 to maybe 10 minutes to get to work, and then high school 30 to 35 minutes after middle school.

That sounds horrible. I work from about 7:30 to 3. Lucky to have a very flexible schedule. If I was required to hit a legit 8 hour target, I would want to get in earlier and leave earlier every single time. Getting off that early in the afternoon actually leaves me with time to do stuff.
