Missouri

Stress the first syllable instead of the second and it's "Misery"

While this thread, like so many others you start, is a wanton display of your self-righteousness and need to annoy those around you, it's pretty interesting.

Missouri boy President Truman brought a swift and total defeat to the Japanese by controversially ordering two separate atomic bombs to be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Shortly after the horrific detonations, the Japanese surrendered aboard the battleship USS Missouri, ending WWII.

We picked up Harry Truman
Floating down from Independence
We said, "What about the war?"
He said, "Good riddance."
We said, "What about The Bomb?
Are you sorry that you did it?"
He said, "Pass me that bottle,
and mind your own business."

Michael Sam, Missouri star defensive player and arguably the best defensive lineman in the SEC

Uh. No. frick, no. Just in the SEC, he's at least behind Clowney (SC), Easley (Florida), Stinson (Alabama), and Smith (Arkansas). Hell, he's not even the highest rated DE on his own team. That honor goes to Kony Ealy. Sam is a tweener that is too immobile to play OLB and too short to play DE at the elite level in the NFL. And that was before he admitted to sucking dicks.

Y'all should thank Missouri for your freedoms, including the freedom to be assholes.

No offense but Missouri is the blandest, most boring, culturally devoid state in the union. It's America's a-hole. It's thousands of miles from the nearest beach and there's zero topographical diversity. It's like Mississippi at a slightly higher latitude. Congrats on your town getting a Wal-Mart though.

Super uneducated blanket statements are the best form of entertainment.

Not only did Missouri (outside of Arkansas) experience the initial Wal-Mart growth in the early days, we now are home to half of the Walton family and their billions of dollars.

We rich.

And Jesse James and Quantrill's raiders did their best to prolong the Civil War.

And Harry Truman's gutting of our military post WWII proved to be a huge mistake and prolonged the Korean war.

And honestly Fulton, Missouri had no impact on the Cold War (Whiteman AFB did more).

And it was Roosevelt who developed the bomb and WWII strategy.

But I will say the WWI memorial in KC is pretty cool.

And I used to see Harry Truman out in his yard in my hometown and spent all night in line to walk by his casket. I probably would never have voted for him but I respect him more than our current crop of vapid politicians.
