How do you keep all of those automatic watches running?
I don't if they hack I pull the crown when I take them off, if they don't hack I just let them run down in the box. My daily ritual is taking out a watch setting it and winding it if it has run down.

You are probably right, though that is just my stock answer because I get ask a lot.
Somehow that reminded me of a link I bookmarked to post today:
r/Watches Reddit
This is the largest most impressive eclectic collection I have ever seen from someone I have never heard of or the collection didn't have its own name. A large portion of the watches are the kind you see a single watch of in a large collection due to being rare, unusual or particularly expensive. The majority of this guy's collection is odd and/or obscure. Note he lists all the models below the pictures. Once I was past the impressiveness of the collection all I could see is them house in foam. I would have just expected them to be in a Brown or Casaro safe or in Wolf winders/boxes. I would like to meet him in person obviously to see the collection but also to get a feel for how his brain is balanced between spendthrift and frugal. We do agree in theory though because you can't wear a box.

The Greek one with the guy doing the girl doggy style
Something for everyone I guess.
Yes I try to wear all my (meager) watch collection. I don't buy any watch to let it rot in a box .

In fairness to the gentleman, all the closeup pictures he showed of the watches showed unapologetic signs of wear. At least those were clearly not safe queens. I have watches in my beater boxes that have lived more sheltered lives.

TOMW (the other moon watch).
I don't remember a Lunar Pilot in the thread thus far. Cool watch and movement. I think it is interesting that Bulova has come out with so many iterations like the Blood Moon. It seems moon watches bring that out in a company. BTW I have zero issue with it because choice is good IMO.

I have it on a replica of the strap David Scott wore on the moon. It’s a nice touch.
I opted for the no-date version, which is what Scott wore. The one thing about this watch that I’m not a fan of is that it’s 45mm, which is big - and it wears every bit of it.

It was Hulk day but apparently I was supposed to do the smashing. I suppose the cold dry weather has made my finger pads a little less grippy and the watch just slipped out of my hands hit the hardwood floor 2 inches away from the sweats I had just stripped off, why couldn't it have landed in the pile? Picked it up and immediately looked at the seconds hand... still running... all is good. Then I noticed the pip looked black. Dammit the pip is gone. A closer look revealed some of the paint was gone in the arrow. shite. Down the hall to the hobby room, grab a loupe and see the ceramic insert is cracked all the way through on each side of the pip hole. frick! It must have landed right on the pip. I went over 25 years wearing various watches with pips never loosing one and in the last 8 years I have lost 3. It was cheap back in the aluminum days, not so much in the days of ceramic. Dopped it off at my dealer at lunch but he did turn my day around because I got the call in person. Two of the watches on my list I had given them are due in the next month, one before Christmas. It was the best of times and the worst of times. He was going to wait until they came in to tell me but figured I could use some cheering up.
Given it was supposed to be a bright sub day I grabbed my 116619 Smurf out of order

i got nothing for today, but this is on my radar. i want this BAD. its worked its way into my soul and as you know, once you get a watch itch nothing will solve it short of forking over cash.
i just love this thing. lume is insane and that 'green fade' watch face just does it for me.

I have a thing for military issued and unit watches. Rocking my Elliot Brown Holton GMT NIVO today. Cool watch issued to UK SBS. Been to the shop in Poole and it’s right outside the base gates. Guys from the unit walk in and buy watches on the regular. I go to the UK for work a couple of times a year and picked this one up. Last year I got the SAS Bremont after a trip to Hereford (not marked, you have to be an active duty trooper to get that one).

I really considered a bronze watch during the "bronze age" a while back but could just never decide on a model, the paralysis by analysis finally turn to ambivalence. The Type 20 was always in that mix. I am kinda coming around to the idea of trying out a bronze watch again but I think I want a low budget 36/38mm field watch to put in my beater box. I would really like to see how the patina evolved on a watch I actually sweated on and marked up routinely. I haven't really looked but I am sure some micro makes one, preferably with a green dial since I think they are the perfect fit for a bronze case. Hamilton makes almost exactly what I want but I don't think they ever made a green dial.

I've watched so many YT videos comparing IWC pilot to zenith and they always seem to prefer IWC. There is just something about that watch I can't get out of my head and almost nobody I show it to likes it like I do.
ETA location jeweler here that carries watches is King and the woman there absolutely adores us.... Well she adores Mrs cad anyway..
Anyway I always wander over to their zeniths when we're in there and there and they're loading us up with drinks. Got a bee in my bonnet.

IWC comes into those fights with the advantage of being one of the OG five flieger manufacturers. It is hard to overcome that when you still make an iconic big pilot. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Zenith (with a proper discount) they just never quite made it over the hump but El Primero variations are always at least in the back of my mind and the Type 20 up at the top of my bronze watch thoughts. The Type 20 while still being large it does fit better on most humans than the IWC BP. The Type 20 is still clearly a large watch but it doesn't have the serving platter look of a Big Pilot.

New Speedy dropped today. Previously only available to military pilots

The new Speedy looks great looking at pics - just too much going on with me, but I realize it is a purpose watch, and I am not a pilot (though I will ride on a plane occasionally).
I have a funny relationship with my Speedy Moon (new ca. 3861, hesalite). It has one of the best non-Rolex bracelts I've come across and certainly moves to the top of the class for the much maligned (and rightly so in my book) Omega bracelets, but I just rarely wear the watch. I probably should move it for something.
Anyways, here is what I have on for perhaps a bit of good luck on this Friday 13th - the 126710CHNR "RootBeer".

Happy Friday. Starting off the day wearing my Seiko “Daytona”. Mecaquartz movement is really cool. This is a fun watch, even moreso when you consider the ~$125 price tag.
