Text scam?

So I get this at 8 AM this morning via text:
CONTRACT
Hello (my name), most of us had conflicts this past week, some still out of town. Tony will contact you with the next steps, he has been copied on this email. Look for contact from him. Thanks, Ray.
Never heard of any of these people and when I responded that they had wrong person and wrong number I got nothing back. What in the frick???
Oh and sender had several other legit numbers copied on the text

I got something similar, except it was about a job. I didn't respond. I'm sure it's spam.

If I text the wrong number and they tell me so, why would I bother them again with yet another text to let them know?

The freaky thing was they knew my name, and they all had numbers from GA where I live yet texting my cell which is still a BR area code

Had similar about a month ago. Text read, "Hey (my name). Have you been to Florida lately?"
I responded after googling and told them I wasn't falling for your scam. They responded "What about for an old girlfriend?"
