Are you a tax payer in Collin county?
If not, what you care about is irrelevant. The tax payers in several ISDs in Collin county voted for this.

Unless you live in the north Dallas area these stadiums do not make any sense. These communities take pride in their cities, public schools and sports teams. Most people in this area make 6 figures and don't mind paying higher property taxes for things our kids will benefit from and enjoy. Very few people here complain about these stadiums and understand that it is a part of who we are.

your point? I never said anything about the statues and this is a thread about Texas football stadiums.

I would like to go back to that whole is 7777 retarded ? thing.
I think we glossed over that and it should be open to debate.
Pic of topgolf goes here

why don't they just call it what it is????? it's an attempt by wealthy ISDs to circumvent the "Robin Hood" laws in Texas that attempt to equalize the education all children are supposed to receive.

on the plus side, with stadiums like that, whitey doesn't mind going to school with minorities. assuming any can afford to live in the district. i'm sure they'll bus in qualify players.

And oil money too.
A long time ago a big part of that oil money was in Louisiana, and it was pushed away.

Texas never allowed a John Curtis to form like we did here in Louisiana...

If people in their district want to pay for it, it's none of your god damn business to question it.
You are correct. Only reason i am commenting is because of this thread.
But my point is, teaching kids that football is so important (and this is wxactly what happens) isnt what i believe in.

I guess it's hard for any of y'all to understand that Collin county isn't backwoods Louisiana.
They aren't bussing in minorities to go 6-5 and 2-8 like two of the teams that play in these stadiums went.
quote:
As of the 2015 Texas Population Estimate Program, the population of the county was 923,201, non-Hispanic whites 535,165 (57.9%). Black Americans 84,858 (9.2%). Other non-Hispanic 146,109 (15.8%). Hispanics and Latinos (of any race) 157,069 (17.0%).[8]

These are Dallas suburbs, not fricking Friday night lights small towns. Football isn't all of life, it's just a bigger deal. These schools are still better than anything Louisiana can offer, even private schools.

Ok, we get it. Texas is big and badass and better than everyone else
Posted on 7/19/17 at 6:22 pm to ksayetiger
No the point is most of you don't know what you're talking about but keep talking like experts.

Have you seen the schools? Top notch facilities all around. I was blown away when getting a tour of the area. Everything at those schools is unreal. McKinney's bond issue was $220 million, $60 million for the stadium, the rest for other school upgrades,

They're like mini college campuses. It's insane.

Its okay TH03, they are just amazed at how things like this can happen when you actually have a great city to build around and have pride in.
Posted on 7/19/17 at 6:36 pm to TH03
For those who are against the stadiums please tell me how the money could be better spent? All of the schools in these districts are top of the line and spare no expense. They have strong infrastructure, great public parks, police/fire, etc.
This isn't about football being more important, or a higher priority. It's about a community wanting to strengthen itself by having great resources for kids.

pretty sure teams in these type of stadiums aren't intending on going 2-8 for long...
