Oil was this low in 2009 and by 2011 it was back over $100/barrel. Cyclical like everything else.

I've been through many down cycles. This one is different. Usually you have "untouchables" during layoffs. Not this time around.

Yes with respect to price, but they will never power an 18 wheeler to haul goods across the country with an electric motor.
No, but Ch4 will - in fact there are several big trucking companies that are going to Ngas

Show me an OS worker who losses his "jacked up truck" and I'll show you a broker losing his 5 Series or C class Mercedes. Whats the difference?

I don't see many truck nuts or "broker trash spending that broker cash" stickers on those 5 Series. You know the people on here love to tool on "trashy" folk.

olorado is nice. Sunny and 70 here for most of the last two weeks.

Economy strong. People are very happy and nice. We have weed.

People in red states are miserable. You can see it when you leave one.

You need to take a trip past Loveland pass.

That sure is funny, seeing as how Californians are fleeing to Texas in droves.

California is losing more residents per year than any state. Somewhere around 250,000 people each year.

It's frustrating to see that, and then hear industry types moaning and groaning about being laid off when in the good times they should have been planning for it instead of making idiotic purchases.

1. Anyone in an industry that is suffering and going through layoffs would be distraught over losing a job, regardless of their spending and saving habits.

2. The assumption that everyone in a particular industry shares the same financial habits/situations is extremely ignorant, and it is exactly why people look like asshats when they get their laughs off the job loss of a stranger because they once saw a bumper sticker.

I believe you are in an industry that suffered a period of layoffs and austerity on the part of the major companies. You might have been too young to have been in when it was going down, but I can promise you that the people who lost their jobs didn't walk away smiling because people in their profession generally come off as financially competent.
