Why would he kill the persons who sided with the republicans? Maybe he figured that he would only get to 1 or 2 politicians before being stopped so he wanted to use his last act to try and paint the enemy (republicans) in a bad light and decided to take a traitor out.
Also the whole ‘registered’ as argument is silly. My dad is a registered democrat but voted for trump twice. My coworker is a registered republican but voted for Obama-Trump-Biden-Trump.
