By comparison, the State of Louisiana is ahead of the curve in testing. As of yesterday, we have tested 14,831 per million residents which is second in the country among states and beats countries such as Austria, South Korea and Hong Kong.

The federal government has actually done well in comparison to other countries. While nationally, our test per million are lower than other countries, as a nation we have conducted more than twice as many total tests as any other country and have concentrated efforts in hot areas like NYC, Louisiana and Washington.

Which is more than Germany and South Korea who have both been touted in the media for their testing and response.

The amount of tests is definitely impressive and helpful.

Currently... yes. Initially... No. The failure at the federal level was waiting until about the second week of March to address the shortcomings of our testing system. This should have been much earlier. South Korea and the US had its first case on or about the same day. But South Korea was cranking out 15-20k test per day before the US could handle that number in total. Less than a month ago, every state including Louisiana was rationing tests b/c there simply wasn't enough to test the people that needed to be tested.
