Even the French President isn't afraid to call it terorrism. Only our leader is afraid of "hurting their feelings".

PARIS—An ex-convict killed a senior police captain and his partner in a suburb of the French capital late Monday before being shot dead by elite forces who saved their small child, in what French authorities labeled an act of terrorism.
quote:
Islamic State’s Amaq news agency cited an unnamed source as saying that an ISIS fighter carried out the attack. Officials close to the investigation said the man was known to security forces. In 2013, he was convicted of belonging to a network that was sending Jihadist fighters to Afghanistan and Pakistan and sentenced to three years in jail, one of the people said. French President François Hollande condemned what he described as ”undoubtedly a terrorist act.”

According to my facebook, we shouldnt be making this political. This was a hate crime against policemen, period.

In our Western, Democratic, civilized nations we unfortunately can't keep these animals locked up forever. You know laws and shite.

"These evil guns made this poor victim of the system lash out and accidentally shoot the oppressive police couple"

Even though he used a knife.

Doesn't matter, Obama says our evil guns still made him do it

JBeam... wtf are you talking about?
He made a post about this statement:
And your argument is about monitoring Twitter? WTF does social media have to do with a statement about the guy being arrested for belonging to a terrorist network? Is there a Join Jihad Twitter account or something?

Why the frick are people so hung up on this?

I'm more speaking towards the lonewolf aspect of terrorism (Orlando & San Bernandino). I realize that this specific person was clearly someone that should have been picked up way ahead of this massacre.
Also, ISIS use twitter for recruitment. But they are regularly removed by admins.

I think the fine line they're trying to walk is between gathering information and knowing when to step in

I wasn't knocking you, I was agreeing about the ridiculousness.

Can we confirm that the shooter wasn't a self-hating police couple before we jump to the conclusion that this was Islamic terrorism?

Today as Americans we grieve the brutal murder, a horrific massacre of dozens of innocent people," he said in a statement at the White House.
"Although it is still early in the investigation, we know enough to say that this was an act of terror and an act of hate," Obama said.
"We will not give in to fear or turn against each other. Instead, we will stand united as Americans to protect our people and defend our nation, and to take action against those who threaten us."
I guess that is different to you?

If it's any concilation he won't be "our leader" much longer.

Absolutely. He downplays it to make it seem like this isn't Islamic fundamentalist terrorism. He's afraid to call it what it is. Say terrorism, don't say an act of terror. That's the same way he describes anything else. Weak.
