I can't fathom the amount of narcissism needed to label Eric Weinstein a moron.

Narcissistic is exactly how I would describe Weinstein.
Perfect word.
“It’s offensive if you think you know something we don’t. How dare you ask questions?”
Ridiculous.

If you've listened to Eric Weinstein at all you should know that is the exact opposite of what Weinstein is about. More than anything he hates exactly that in academia. He was trying his best to encourage Terrence Howard to pursue his ideas because some of them led in very interesting directions. But when Terrence was horribly wrong on the basics he called him on it, more to help him in the right direction than anything. Now where I sort of agree with you was the number of times Eric told him to stop teaching. Because that's pretty much what Eric does non-stop. But ultimately Weinstein was far nicer and more respectful than I'd expected. Very interesting podcast that I'm sure I'll watch a few times more. I'm not sure what to make of Terrence Howard. I wouldn't say crazy, at all. His take is extremely unconventional, the question is, is it ultimately useful? Some of it, maybe so.

Eric Weinstein might be the smartest living person, certainly in the Top .01%.
Of all the guys that make the rounds on YouTube and podcasts, Weinstein has gotta be the smartest one. He also carries himself with the confidence of knowing he's by far the smartest person in the room, and I can't say I blame him for it.

His brother is very intelligent as well, but he is very clearly the "dumb" one in that family.

I do think Eric is slightly more intelligent than Bret, but not by that much. Bret is still one of the Top 5 intellectuals I can think of.
Not to mention Bret was right about basically everything when it came to Covid, probably the one most right about it outside of Jay Bhattacharya.
