The closest major city to me has a population of 45,000 and I live outside of a town of 2100 that’s near that town. I am out in the sticks on 104 acres and we love it here.

My town has 32k and it's gotten too big for me. I'll find a nice smaller coastal town when I retire.

It's really nice, but seems like a place that would get really old after a few months.

Sounds nice. I have a kid in school but when she's done I might find a work from home gig and go move where I'd like. This heat makes me want it to be further north too

When you're in your twenties, no doubt. When you're in your fifties, probably not.

You run out of new things to be impressed with after a while.

Glenn Watts in Central?

I'd be happy in Idaho but I married an Alabama country girl. She might go to North Carolina or Tennessee but I'll probably never drag her much further.

Texas Hill Country, where the southeast meets the southwest. “Greatest place” is Somewhere on the upper Guadalupe River west of Canyon Lake where the river is still wild and green. There’s More whitetail deer then people, more wild flowers then you could count in a lifetime and wonderful small towns with craft breweries, wineries and mom and pop cafes with ice cold Dr Pepper and homemade pie. It’s an area with great public schools, a healthy economy to match the cost of living and no cultcha to be found. I’m raising my kids here and I’ll happily die here. It meets our needs and wants and beyond.

My family is pretty well known out there. If you knew my last name you'd probably figure that I was from there. Still a lot of good people out in that area.

I'd be happy in Idaho

Got a coworker who is going through a divorce, she wants to move somewhere else for a while and start over. I convinced her to go to Northern Idaho to check it out and she was blown away. Moving there in 3 weeks. It's one of the few mountain areas not Californicated quite yet

I've only been to Boise and maybe 40 miles in any given direction. I spent 3 or 4 weeks working there but unfortunately work got in the way.

La Jolla/San Diego was mentioned and it's definitely not hot as hell. Maybe don't have all 4 distinct seasons but the weather is nice 90% of the time.

Boise has those brown hills, too arid. Go north a bit and you'll find greenery and better scenery.
