Me too. I have to see them any time they get anywhere close to here. I missed a show recently and felt like I was dying.

I don't know if this was Bi-Polar or not but it definitely freaked me out as a kid...
My sister was engaged to a man in the '70's. That is, until she came home one night and found him siting with a gun staring at the mirror. He was talking about the creatures on the other side that were out to get him.

Did or do you smoke weed regularly? I don't know anybody who has Bipolar who has not been a regular smoker of weed or smoked around their kids who are too little to not notice. Now their kids have the Bipolar disorder.

Honestly, it still isn't enough.....especially when I am hungover. Imagine having vertigo for days on end, and being able to feel your brain not firing correctly. Closing my eyes and then opening them, I cannot get my eyes to focus on anything. It sucks, but I have learned to deal with it to a tolerable level. There hasn't ever been a medicine that has made me feel 100%. Looking back, I definitely got hit in the head too many times. I know the exact moment when I developed seizures, and if I could take that hour of my life back, I'd do it in a second. I am lucky it isn't hereditary because I don't want to pass it on, but unlucky because it is something physical that I did to myself, and it cannot ever be fixed
I wouldn't count yourself out. There are always ways to better your situation, you've just got to find them

yes, someone very close to me is bipolar.
Every case is different. Some lean more to the manic side more often, some more to the depression side. Like someone as already mentioned, it is tricky to get the right meds. Some only treat the mania, some only treat the depression, but some, like the person close to me, has to treat both. It is ever-changing though, as the day-to-day stresses of life change all of our chemical production, therefore, will change the bipolar individual, causing a short time where the meds don't seem to work. It is a never ending chess game, requiring MASSIVE patience and tolerance from those closest to the person. A good doctor who is doesn't over react to episodes like I mentioned, but also has the courage to change meds when they aren't having the desired effect. The most important person to someone suffering from bipolar disorder is the one they spend the most time with. That person MUST educate himself/herself on bipolar and learn the triggers that affect their friend the most, as well as what calms them when they can't calm down otherwise. It is very difficult and tiresome, but giving up is not an option. What the bipolar person needs the most is what they tend to find the least; patience and understanding.

My doctor told me that smoking weed or drinking just makes the aniexty worse.

Not particularly, but I do know that fluctuations do happen. I have seen it first hand many times. I guess it was just some food for thought if you ever get bored
The bipolar guy I know smokes weed constantly. He flips his shite when he doesn't. He is also on meds, but I believe he has become dependent on the drugs to supplement the meds not working as well

Kajun, prayers sent for your side effects
I've been taking them for a long time, so I don't really notice the side effects. I have a steady job in management which gives me the flexibility to go in my office and shut the door for a few whenever I need to decompress. Only time it's an issue is when there is a mix up with a refill and I can't get them done in time (all my meds are through the VA).
