Sounds....exactly like South Louisiana. Except Seattle is growing, prosperous, and you know...has money. Granted, they probably don't have the heinous crimes, trash, shite strewn across streets, and filth everywhere.

I find it funny that the "port-a-let", diarrhea crockpot of the US can say such things when it is the country's toilet.

Take everything you said and multiply it by 10 and you now have Detroit.

If you're going to come in any month not between June-mid October February is it. Better weather than March and April for sure. You'll be fine.

It's cool but February isn't exactly the best month to be there. Also, Denver > Seattle

Seattle is a great city. Most of the area is clean and the terrain is beautiful, although you're from California so it won't be spectacular to you, just greener and wetter.

Thanks NWarty. I appreciate the info. We didn't have a lot of choice on the date (Feb), but we will make the most of it rain or shine. Plus we got $108 round trip air from Sacramento, which was really nice.

Do you live in the Sac area? Or are you commuting in from the bay area?

NOLA isn't that bad. In fact, if you visit Philly you'll appreciate how clean NOLA really is.

How do you like it? I can never figure out if things are getting better or worse over there. What do you do?

We live right north of Sac, town called Roseville. We love it here. I was a travel nurse and we stayed, especially after Katrina. Where are you and what do you do?

I think the Seattle Freeze is real and it's in Portland too. People in both places tend to be standoffish, cold and distant. It's just a PNW thing I guess. Both beautiful places with lots to see and do, great outdoor access. Just completely un-outgoing, un-motivated seeming people. I couldn't live there because the people are so cold (even conpared to Manhattan- hell, people in Manhattan seem nice by comparison) but it most definitely worth a visit.
