Legal weed is blamed for increased homeless population, and therefore crime.

Yeah, that’s bullshite, medical weed was already legal and “wellness centers” were everywhere when I was there from 2009-2011.

Everything I know about Colorado Springs I learned from joe kenda. So basically there’s a lot of black men killing white women. That was basically 90% of the episodes

He's got a point, there!

Dude, that is not bullshite, assuming Colorado Springs resembles Denver at all.

I am fine with removing the government from enforcing marijuana laws, that is my worldview. But to say that has NOT been a contributing factor to some of the nastier areas of Denver that SWELL in the spring and summer, and increase crime all over, and other shitty consequences... well that is simply bullshite.

I get to Denver somewhat often, and I have friends there. Colorado Springs, less often. But if CS is at all similar, there are absolutely consequences of allowing a certain segment of the population easier access to weed.

When it comes to homeless, we’re having the exact same problem as Denver. Hell, they very publicly ran off the camps along 25 and around the park and now they’re camping all the way up the AFA neighborhoods. Otherwise, yeah, Denver is a much different city.

As far as I know recreational still isn’t allowed in the springs, need a medical card or you have to drive to manitou for a recreational shop.

And yes Denver is a horrible god forsaken wasteland of pot junkies who will steal your soul, stay far away!

Moving from Germany to Colorado next fall. Can’t wait to be back in the states.

See the OP for background, but I’m looking for any input on the best neighborhoods/area around the Springs to buy a home.

Would like to try to stay within 20-25 mins to Peterson AFB. Looking in the 300-400k range.
