(allegedly)

quote:

the plainclothes cop followed her, she alleged.
“He said something slick like, ‘Where are you going?’?” she added. “I said, ‘I’m going home.’?”

When Erlich asked if he was a cop, he replied, “Maybe.” She then told him that’s “a cop answer.”

Seconds later, a van pulled up and four more officers got out. That’s when Peinan ordered them to cuff her, she claimed. “He said she blew his cover,” Erlich’s mother said.

Erlich said that when she asked why she was being arrested, Peinan responded, “You know why — you’re being a smartass.”

Hard to jump to conclusions and believe the plaintiff until you realize this actually happened:

quote:

“Peinan then unlawfully subjected the two completely innocent women to approximately 19 hours of detention and charged them with Obstruction of Governmental Administration,”

"He said something like" pretty much makes you lose every single shred of credibility.

No it does not. It means you can't quote exactly every word the piece of shite cop said.

not to mention the city didn't clarify why she was arrested for "Obstruction of Government Administration," dropped all charges, and offered to settle for $45k

i mean, that just screams that the cop is innocent, doesn't it...
